Why does Clove powder make plastic biodegrade? - pvc container
I do not know whether "biodegradable" the right word. I'm the manager of a store that sells more than seventy five different herbs, which are stored in plastic containers made of PVC. The tank has been a number of years. The container of cloves is now, it seems, has melted and has reached the point where I am from 1 take / 8 PVC plastic containers made with two fingers thick. The plastic now feels like Jell-O. Why?

probably the eugenol in clove degrades the plastic.
try to find similar effects in other oily spices.
